Bangda solvent-free adhesive PUIIL-618A/B cooperates with three-in-one machine to help customers achieve mass production of high barrier packaging materials

Lamination structures containing aluminum foil substrates usually include paper/aluminum, plastic/aluminum structures, and plastic/aluminum structures include non-high barrier flexible film/aluminum structures and high barrier rigid film/aluminum structures.

Regarding solvent-free lamination containing aluminum foil substrates, there have been many applications in China many years ago. Relatively speaking, paper/aluminum structures (such as those used for chewing gum inner packaging, etc.) and ordinary film/aluminum structures (such as BOPP/AL, etc.) have been widely used in solvent-free lamination.

However, solvent-free lamination of high barrier rigid film/aluminum structures (PET/AL), especially the solvent-free composite of white background version PET printing film/aluminum foil, due to its “difficult process control and difficult production organization” “dilemma” reason, its application promotion is slow, it is most concerned by the industry, and it is recognized as the difficult process of solvent-free lamination. For many years, no complete and reliable solution has been formed.

Two methods of current PET/AL solvent-free composite process

1. “Two-in-one” lamination method: first two-layer laminated, and then one more lamination for each additional layer. The biggest advantage of this method is that the machine is simple, but it leads to the special process problem of “back penetration” after PET/AL.

2. The lamination process of “semi-curing step-by-step method” is used to complete the three-layer (or multi-layer) lamination step by step: that is, PET and aluminum foil are cured for several hours (usually 2-4 hours), and then the third layer is immediately laminated.

Thanks to the cooperation from our customer’s technology, ink, and machine, our original adhesive PUIIL-598A/B has achieved solvent-free lamination of pet/al and pet/vmpet in both methods.  It has mainly been used in the “two-in-one” lamination method and has been helping customers expand the market and consolidate their advantages for many years.

At the request of our customers this time, we iterated our original PUIIL-598A/B adhesive and developed a PUIIL-618A/B adhesive that cooperates with Sinomech’s three-in-one machine to achieve mass production of solvent-free composite materials such as pet/al/pe and pet/vmpet/pe. The appearance of the composite film bag is exquisite and has been recognized by the market.
